Services

Learning Milestones provides a comprehensive suite of educational services designed to support learners’ academic growth and overall development. We offer expert evaluation to identify individual learning needs, customized program development to address those needs, and personalized 1:1 applied behavior analytic and tutoring services for focused instruction. Ongoing assessment ensures that progress is continually and instructional strategies are adjusted as needed to maximize each learner’s success. Learners receive the support they need to achieve their educational goals and reach their full potential.

Expert Witness Evaluation and Testimony

Our practice provides expert witness evaluations and testimony to support families, schools, and legal teams in securing the educational services learners need to thrive. Drawing on extensive experience in behavior analysis, special education, and evidence-based instructional methods, we conduct thorough, objective assessments that clearly document a learner’s needs, strengths, and required supports. In legal and due process settings, our testimony translates complex educational and behavioral data into clear, compelling findings, helping decision-makers understand the services essential for a learner’s success. This work not only informs fair outcomes but also ensures that each learner has access to the individualized resources and opportunities they deserve.

Assessment

We utilize a range of behavior analytic and educational assessment tools to identify each learner’s strengths, needs, and barriers to progress. Our assessments include functional behavior assessments (FBA), curriculum-based assessments, skills inventories (such as the VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, or AFLS), and standardized academic measures. Through these evaluations, we develop a clear understanding of the learner’s current performance levels, behavioral needs, and learning style, allowing us to make data-based decisions that guide individualized instruction and intervention planning.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)

Our services are grounded in the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, a scientific approach to understanding behavior and learning. ABA strategies are used to teach meaningful skills, increase appropriate behaviors, and reduce behaviors that interfere with learning. Interventions are individualized, evidence-based, and data-driven. We use techniques such as task analysis, prompting and fading, reinforcement systems, and generalization strategies to help learners acquire and maintain new skills across settings.

Tutoring

Our tutoring services integrate the methodologies of Applied Behavior Analysis, Direct Instruction, and Precision Teaching to deliver highly effective, individualized learning support. Instruction is aligned with Common Core Standards and tailored to complement each learner’s district-based curriculum, ensuring continuity and generalization between tutoring sessions and classroom expectations. We target key academic areas such as reading, math and writing while also strengthening learning behaviors like focus, organization, and persistence. By combining structured, carefully sequenced lessons with data-driven progress monitoring and positive reinforcement, we help learners master essential skills, stay on track with school requirements, and develop the confidence and independence needed for long-term academic success.

Behavior Intervention

We specialize in developing and implementing individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) designed to reduce challenging behavior and teach functional alternatives. Each plan is informed by a thorough functional behavior assessment and includes proactive strategies, skill-building activities, and clear guidelines for response to behavior. Our goal is to replace problem behaviors with socially appropriate, effective behaviors that allow learners to better access instruction and participate more fully in home, school, and community life.

Social Skills Instruction

Our social skills instruction is designed to address communication and social interaction deficits that may impact a learner’s ability to form relationships and function successfully in group environments. We teach skills such as initiating and maintaining conversations, reading social cues, cooperative play, emotional regulation, and perspective-taking. Instruction is delivered in structured 1:1 settings or small groups, using modeling, role play, feedback, and real-world practice to help learners generalize these essential skills across settings.
